Our courses are run in real-world coastal environments across Australia, giving you practical experience from day one.

Townsville - North Queensland
Courses at Orpheus Island are run from the James Cook University Orpheus Island Research Station (OIRS), which is extremely well set up for diving!
This has become one of our favourite places to run training, as the JCU staff on the island are always fantastic to work with, and AODT students and staff live together at the OIRS accommodation - which helps to generate a fantastic team environment during these courses.
The fact that the water is warm doesn't hurt, either!!!

Brisbane
One of the first ADAS courses Simon ran (over twenty years ago) was for the University of Queensland, from the UQ Moreton Bay Research Station. We are looking forward to running courses from there again from 2026.
This research station is a wonderful facility for running occupational diving courses, as it is very well set up for teaching, as well as for boating and diving activities. We have several training sites in Moreton Bay - all within 15-20 minutes of MBRS.

Sydney - NSW
Dives for our Sydney courses are undertaken at several sites in Sydney Harbour.

Perth - Western Australia
For our Fremantle courses our shallower dives are run at suitable sites in the Swan River, with some of our deeper dives being undertaken offshore around the Marmion/Rottnest Island areas.

Hobart
Dives for our Tasmanian courses are run close to Hobart in the Derwent River, where we have numerous 'all weather' sites we can choose from.
